Just like the fresh, crispy pickles you get in a New York deli, these are a family favorite going way back to when I had a garden in my twenties. My kids love this recipe. The basic brine is timeless. Easy and quick to make! Five minutes and some patience for the fermentation process is all the time you need.

Pickle recipe ⬇️  Brine:  8 cups water  4 1/2 cup white vinegar  1/2 cup pickling salt (kosher salt)   Boil together (makes about 3 1/2 quarts of brine) store in your refrigerator until you need it. .. bring to a boil again prior to pouring over your vegetables. ………… I like the Claussen refrigerator pickles from the store so this is my version of them   Fill 1 quart jar with washed Gerkin pickling cucumbers (I slightly slice the bloom tip and stem tip off)  Small handful of fresh dill (about 4 tablespoons)  1 tablespoon minced garlic  3-4 black peppercorns  2-3 slices of onion (about 2 tablespoons)  (Add 1 Jalapeño if Pickling Salt, Pickle Recipe, Refrigerator Pickles, Water Bath Canning, Farm Food, Pickling Cucumbers, Fresh Dill, Pickling Recipes, Black Peppercorn
