Sheri Fitzgerald on Instagram: "There are so many ways to use ribbon on a tree and this is one that I use quite often. It’s all about the “pinch and tuck”! For this technique I layered a 2.5” ribbon on top of a 4”, and cut the pieces in 1.5-2’ pieces. I know it’s sometimes hard to cut ribbon that is a bit pricey but it’s a must. Just be sure to practice with inexpensive ribbon first. Remember that there are no mistakes to Christmasing! Just give it a try. The first thing you’re going to do is lay everything you got for your tree out on a sheet. I usually start with the topper so I’ll pick out a few pieces that I think I want to use and I’ll put it in and secure it with the branches. If it looks good, I continue on. If it doesn’t, I keep playing around with it until I’m happy with it. I always do the top of first And go from there. I like to use paper covered wire as it’s easier to work with than twine, as well as being nice and strong. You could also use cable ties - just be mindful of not doing them up too tight so they don’t mark the banister.
