Carnitas 🇲🇽🐖⤵️ ➡️➡️ there are many ways to make carnitas, this is my version. ✅ I have an electric stove so I cooked everything on high until the broth turned to oil and then lowered it to med/low until desired color. I like them a bit crispy but if you want a more tender carnitas cook them less at the oil stage. What you’ll need: - pork shoulder or butt (this will not work with lean pork) - lard - seasonings (cumin, salt and pepper) - garlic (I suggest always doing 5-10) - onion (half is fine, whole is better) - dry bay leaves (I use 3 but 5 is good too) - oranges (I suggest always 2+) - MEXICAN Coca-Cola (one glass bottle) Cut your pork into large pieces, season well, and set aside.
